Junior Infants

Junior Infants is a year full of fun and excitement. It is a very busy year, settling into a new school with lots of new faces and making new friends.

October brings Arts week where the children experience the puppet show ‘Bosco’ for the first time. As well as this Arts week is filled with lots of art, dance and drama workshops. Not forgetting the all famous Witches Walk where everyone dresses up and marches around the school chanting Halloween songs and rhymes.

December marks the arrival of a special guest and the Garda band. Santa arrivals in style and everyone sings along with the Garda band in the festive spirit.Along with these exciting occasions the Junior Infants will also take part in an 8 week dance term with a dance teacher and an 8 week term of Basketball with our basketball coach.

Other exciting times happening in Junior Infants include Active week, Intercultural week and Seachtain na Gaeilge. These weeks are full of new experiences and lots of exciting learning.

Spring time brings the Bunny Bop and the Easter break. Having practised all our moves in our dances classes we are all set to Bop into the Easter holidays.

The school year ends with great excitement when Bosco returns for a final show and the annual teddy bear’s picnic.

Each year we watch our Junior Infants timidly walking in the school doors in September and striding out in June with a new found confidence and maturity, ready to take on Senior Infants.
