Dear Parents/Guardians,
I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. Hopefully you’re all keeping safe, well and still smiling.
At times like this, you and your child's mental health is what's most important to us. I understand that children and adults alike may be worried and nervous. We completely understand that this may be a very stressful time for some families, especially if people are unwell, trying to work from home, have small children, a busy household etc. Many of us are parents ourselves and understand these daily struggles.
We, as a staff have thought hard about the most helpful way to support parents of young children at this time and hope that we can provide you with some suggestions to keep little brains active and engaged.
The staff are currently working together to provide play ideas and more academic focused work for your child for next week and each week going forward the school remains closed. This will be available on the school website with a link on Class Dojo. The website can take bigger files and more documents so it will be easy to access all links on the one page. The page is called “Learning from Home” and the tab is available on the website home page.
A weekly suggestion plan will be added every week for your child with specific suggestions in the core subjects and some more general suggestions under different themes. We have also provided a suggested timetable for you to edit if you wish. This can be useful for some children who like a routine.
There is no pressure on anyone to complete all or any of the weekly suggestions. Remember you know your child and your current situation better than anyone else and academic work may not be your priority at this stage. We are however happy to provide this work for those looking for more guidance. Your child’s teacher will be available to answer any queries you have either on Dojo or on their school email address which is on the weekly plans.
Finally our school motto says, Love Laughter & Learning; remember we can’t have learning unless we have love and laughter. Never underestimate the importance of play, reading and cuddles with your young children.
Look after yourselves and look after each other.
Kind regards,
Deirdre Ni Bhroin
Principal
