First Class is a definite highlight for all the children in Saint Marks. The kids get a great variety of interesting and engaging activities throughout the year. From participating in experiments during Science Week and designing and building rollercoasters on Engineering Day the kids get a good fun grounding in STEM activities.
They also participate on the Incredible Edibles programme, learning about healthy eating and growing their own fruit and vegetables in the classroom. Some of the kids help to plant new trees on the school grounds on National Tree Day which is always a favourite activity amongst the children.
Come December the kids are busy singing and dancing preparing for the School Nativity Show, would be singers and budding actors get stuck into rehearsing for the big show in all its colour and pomp.
First class kids are encouraged to stay active all year long, as such they have special classes in Dance and Basketball when we bring in a professional dance teacher and basketball coach. The students always look forward to these lessons, they also get lots of physical activity throughout the school week with SUAS (Stand Up And Shake) breaks and our ever popular Skip Into Spring initiative. Come summer time they are geared up and ready to go for our action packed Active Week.
